Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills required to provide assistance to a patient until medical assistance arrives.

• Introduction to First Aid
• Primary Assessment
• Respiratory Emergencies
• Recognition of Heart Attack and Stroke
• Musculoskeletal Injuries
• Altered Levels of Consciousness
• Burns, Scalds, Poisons and Electric Shock

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course the learner will receive a Basic First Aid Training Certificate form Essential Health and Safety and this will be valid for 2 years.

Assessment

Short written assessment required to pass along with practical demonstration of skill.
